Colonel Crystal L. House

COL Crystal House received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She entered the U.S. Army through a ROTC nursing scholarship and was commissioned in the Army Nurse Corps in 1994. She earned her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in May 2007.

COL House is currently the Deputy Commander of Inpatient Services at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. Her former positions include: Executive Officer for the Office of the Chief, Army Nurse Corps in the Office of The Surgeon General, Assistant Deputy Commander for Nursing at Weed Army Community Hospital, Fort Irwin, CA; Chief, Nursing Performance Improvement and Department of Nursing Special Staff Officer, Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC), Fort Bragg, NC; Director, En-route Critical Care Flight Nursing Program, 44th Medical Brigade (FWD), Bagram, Afghanistan; Medical-Surgical Section Chief, WAMC, Ft Bragg, NC; Evening/Night Supervisor, WAMC; Combined Critical Care Unit Clinical Nurse Officer-in-Charge (CNOIC), WAMC; Intensive Care Unit CNOIC, 21st Combat Support Hospital (FWD), Baghdad, Iraq; ROTC Brigade Nurse Counselor, 5th Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC; Emergency Room Staff Nurse, 10th Combat Support Hospital (FWD), Kuwait; Emergency Department Assistant CNOIC, Fort Carson, CO; Monroe Troop Medical Clinic CNOIC, Fort Hood, TX; Intensive Care Unit CNOIC, 21st Combat Support Hospital (FWD), Eagle Base, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Critical Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse, Darnall Army Community Hospital, Fort Hood, TX; Clinical Staff Nurse of Medical Intensive Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Ward and Labor and Delivery, Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC; and Platoon Tactical Officer, ROTC Basic Camp, Fort Knox, KY.

COL House is currently a second year student in the Army War College Distance Education Program. She is a graduate of the AMEDD Officer Basic Course, Critical Care Nurse Course, Combat Casualty Care Course, AMEDD Officer Advanced Course, Clinical Head Nurse Course, Intermediate Level Education Course, Advanced Nurse Leadership Course, AMEDD Executive Skills Course, the Interagency Institute of Federal Healthcare Executives, as well as, many professional and clinical courses.

COL House’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NATO Medal and the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3) award.
