EACH University

Hospital staff goes back to school

Employees of Evans Army Community Hospital are going back to school. But they will not have to leave the hospital to garner their education. They will be attending the hospital’s new “school” – EACH University.

The “university” is a low-cost, internal training program that was the brain child of Evans’ employee Toni Chatman, a logistician whose duties at the hospital involve property management and hand receipt management.

Computer-use eyestrain Prevention

Staring at your computer screen, smartphone, video game or other digital devices for long periods won’t cause permanent eye damage, but your eyes may feel dry and tired. Some people also experience headaches or motion sickness when viewing 3-D, which may indicate that the viewer has a problem with focusing or depth perception.

Summer camp continues lessons learned at school

From time to time we all need a little help. That was one lesson 20 children learned during Fort Carson’s School Behavioral Health Summer Camp.

The two-week camp, for students from Fort Carson’s elementary and middle schools, was designed with the children’s needs in mind.

"Every activity we do at the camp is therapeutic in some way," said Jacqueline Delano, PhD, the deputy chief for the School Behavioral Health program. "It may look like the kids are just having fun, but there is actually thought behind each activity."

Hospital shoots for a star
