ORGANIZATION: The Blood Bank operates as a Transfusion Service, providing blood products for emergencies, surgeries and therapy. The Blood Bank is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspects the Blood Bank to ensure safety and compliance with federal regulations.
LOCATION: The Blood Bank is located in Room 1517 in the Main Laboratory of Evans Army Community Hospital. The phone number is 526-7999
HOURS: The hours of operation are routinely from 0730 to 1615 hours, Monday through Friday. A laboratory technician or technologist is available evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to perform necessary transfusion testing.
