Various Plating and Streaking Techniques
Gram Negative Bacillus Beta Hemolytic Blood Culture Staphylococcus spp. Positive for Streptococcus spp. The following is a list of the Culture procedures that are offered in the Bacteriology Laboratory: Throat , urine , Strep grouping, Neisseria gonorrhoeae,
blood, subcutaneous tissue , bite wound , hart cath tip , eye , ear , CSF ,
sterile body fluids, stool , genital
, lower respiratory tract, group B Streptococcus screen test, as well as aerobic
and anaerobic cultures from any body
site.

The following is a list of the tests and procedures that are offered in the Serology Laboratory: Rapid plasma reagin (RPR), mono spot, rubella, Directigen for CSF’s, Respiratory Syncytial
Virus (RSV), Helicobacter Pylori,
Rheumatoid factor / Rheumatoid Arthritis (RF/RA), Antistreptolysin-O (ASO),
Influenza A & B, C-difficile
toxin A/B, CLOtest and Shiga
Toxin-producing E. coli 0157 detection
in human stool.
Trichomonas spp. Enterobius vermicularis The following is a list of the procedures that are offered in the Parasitology section: Parasitic examination of stool (send out), fecal occult blood, qualitative fat (neutral fat), pinworm preparations and Giardia antigen tests.
Semen / Sperm The Microbiology Laboratory also performs semen analysis on Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment only. Please call (719) 526-7791 to schedule an appointment if referred by your Primary Care Provider.
