Facility Management Branch


Functions:

  • Work orders for hanging pictures, door locks, signs, add outlets, etc.

  • Engineering liaison for new construction projects.

  • Upgrades to the facilities and grounds for new uses.

  • Site support for new medical equipment.

  • Building repairs, painting and routine maintenance.

  • Keys and access to the buildings.

  • Space Management.

  • Responsible for fire alarm, heating and cooling, and electric power systems.

  • Grounds maintenance, mow lawns, plow snow and take care of ice.

  • Contract Officer Representatives for facilities maintenance



  • Linen  - Contracting Officer Representative for linen contract:

    • Ensures daily linen delivery is sufficient for MDS personnel to fill par levels of hospital customers.  

    • Keeps copies of daily weigh in/weigh out sheets, 

    • Acts as liaison between customer and Contractor when necessary.

    • Performs monthly inspections of incoming linen.

    • Performs semi-annual inspection of laundry facility and reports results to Contracting Officer and Infection Control Committee.

  • Housekeeping - Contracting Officer Representative for PSCI contract:

    • PSCI

    • Performs a minimum of 755 random room inspections of hospital and outlying buildings on a monthly basis.

    • Housekeeping and Regulated Medical Waste discrepancies should first be reported to the housekeeping office at extension 526-7413.

    • Linen discrepancies should first be reported to MDS Supervisor at extension 524-4256.

    • If a satisfactory answer is not obtained from the above individuals then customers should contact, COR Environmental Services at extension 526-7647 or alternate COR Environmental Services at extension 524-2239.

    • System Failures

    • Medical gases

    • Medical vacuum

    • Nurse Call System

    • Ventilation

    • PA System

    • Automatic Doors

    • Domestic Water

    • Natural Gas failure or leak

    • Fire Protection System

    • Electrical power Failure - total or emergency generator issues

    • Basic facility maintenance
