Supply Chain Management Branch


  • Inventory Management (IM) Section functions:

    • Purchase medical stock and unique one time buy items

    • Controlled substance record of issue

    • Contract Officer Representative for medical-surgical prime vendor, and uniform contracts.

    • Administer delivery contract for medical gas.

    • Furnish over-the-counter supplies

    • Stock and maintain crash carts for exchange (except for controlled substances and items on top of the cart)

    • Provide customer service support for Logistics Division

    • Purchase and stock routine office supplies and stamps.  

    • Special Order Purchase request form.

    • Provide transportation coordination

    • Purchase books, pamphlets, and videos

    • Exchange and turn in of white uniforms.  


       

  • Materiel Distribution Service (MDS) functions:

    • Stock point of-use-stations (OMNICELL).

      • New personnel are required to complete the POU User Access Form  (electronically or hardcopy). Deliver the completed form, with signature, to the Chief of SCMB, in Room 0400A.

      • For Reporting and Processing of medical materiel complaints/quality improvement, use the Medical Materiel Complaint Form, SF 380, and submit it to the Supply Chain Management Branch.

      • Changes- Complete and deliver the Request for Point of Use (POU) Item Change, with signatures, to the Chief of SC Management Branch, in Room 0400A for appropriate action.

    • Distribute supplies to non-automated areas.

    • Maintain mass casualty carts.

    • Distribution and turn in of linen. 


  • Warehouse functions:

    • Receive shipments.

    • Stock warehouse shelves.

    • Issue to non-hospital military activities.

    • Maintain controlled substance vault.

    • Manage the Precious Metal Recovery Program.

    • Manage Medical Materiel Return Program.

    • Deliver to customer areas.

    • Conduct product quality control. 

    • Turn in of excessive medical materiel and expired items.

    • Process medical materiel complaints.
