R-A-C-E

Call *46, report the location of fire.

If you are in the fire area (ACTIVE ZONE)

R = RESCUE

Rescue those in immediate danger

A = ALARM

Pull fire alarm, call 9-1-1

C = CONTAIN THE FIRE

Close all doors

E = EXTINGUISH SMALL FIRES/EVACUATE

Fire Extinguisher use:

P = PULL (pull the pin from the handle)

A = AIM (aim the hose at the base of the fire)

S = SQUEEZE (squeeze the handles together)

S = SWEEP (sweep the agent back & forth across the fire)

Assist fire department if requested; notify the MEDDAC Safety Office of the incident.
